This is not just a standard D&D game; it is an immersive narrative layer woven into the fabric of your wedding weekend. High Rock Castle isn’t just a venue, it becomes a living character in the story.
The goal is to transform your guests from observers into active participants in a mythic story that mirrors the celebration of your union. Whether they are hardcore gamers or family members who just want to sip mead and watch the show, everyone plays a part in the “Festival of the Joined Houses.”
My Philosophy: Tangible Memories: I specialize in creating experiences that leave physical proof of the memory. I don’t just run a game; I facilitate an emotional experience where laughter, suspense, and shared storytelling create bonds between guests. By using custom-designed physical props (character cards, tokens, artifacts), players leave with a memento that lasts forever. These objects act as story anchors — reminders that they didn’t just attend a wedding, they were part of it.
KELLY: Some perspective from my side. In the last 6 months I’ve probably created 500 new web pages. Maybe closer to 800. I’ve at least solidified on a lot of in-page structural elements and sub folder structures to make navigation a little bit easier. I have a whole bunch of adventures in the pipeline, but honestly I’ve been so focused on world building. I feel like I’ve been writing a novel. Arabus said why don’t you? I’m like because character dialogue isn’t my thing, plot and story is. I guess what I’m trying to say is right now I’d rather world build than actually game master. And it shows. Im happy to help build out KArolak area.

Cool… OrcaCon was pretty cool but ended up getting sick Saturday on the way home so had to skip Sunday…
Also looking closer.. thought the wedding gm gig was THIS year… but not until 2028… so…
I’ve got time to prepare… still need to send in initial proposal… hopefully tonight or tomorrow.
Well that gives me time to work on some stuff on my end. I’ve typed up all my Google doc notes that I had on the area. But there’s previous versions of the website that I should go through and post all that stuff up on as well.

As a final confirmation, karolak itself or a smaller city up river. Karolak is a massive 200,000+ population
I’m thinking a smaller city / settlement up river… but close enough to tie into Karolak Adventures, wild woods, & boar hunt.
I got the bid/proposal in yesterday. Date will be weekend of May 1st 2028 if they go for it.
I’ll flesh out the gm/campaign tool I’m using and build out a full card set.
I picked up a rpg art tarot card set from an artist like OrcaCon & keep running in them. So at least that is covered.
Can give you a link to proposal if you like.
KELLY: Definitely send the link!
Also, does the settlement have to be on the river or can it be inland?

I figure close to river but a bit tiny bit inland. Likely trade lords on the river? Thinking could have river captain officiate in game wedding… could also do a tie in with Arabus character. Maybe his captain (or sister ship) as npc.
Figure it’s called high hill so hill that can overlook the Byne river… rushing hills? Or is that too far upriver… maybe not that far. Thinking somewhere between Karolak & SeransGrant.
KELLY: That’s really cool what you’ve put together. Do you want to add anything else for parameters, or just have me take a first run at it?
LARRY: Hadn’t heard back at all from the wedding… however i can see this being the 2nd leg of the adventure we where doing… & just continue it along those lines before things end up in Karolak proper… so i figure that notable houses along the river are aligned with Karolak even though they have their own autonomy. I’m pretty good at putting the pieces together once the basic framework of a region is put together.
KELLY: upriver from karolak are territories owned by the noble houses in KArolak, but the river itself has few harbors, its like the Columbia. As it gets close to the mouth, and the elevation lower, there’s a lot more “waterfront” acreage. Upriver, its a lot of man made cut outs and pumps for agriculture (or use of tributaries) and a lot of great views – but few cities until you get to natural ports (without the help of magic or industry to shape and dredge).
