History: Morgent (more-jent van-yilis), unlike his father, Sira Haelfmon (senior banner-man of the Earl of Bar-Innis), had no martial prowess. He was awkward growing up, until he met Bathe, a bard in the court of the Duke of Dunstrand. He met him while visiting the Duke’s court with his father at age 10. Bathe immediately saw the potential in the youth and persuaded his father to have him sent to Port Town to be tested by the Guild of Solars. Proving quite adept, he studied there for 6 years before returning to him homeland of Bar-Innis. The majority of the arts he learned under Maester Vinnislan – a generalist who was once responsible for foreseeing danger and protecting the family of the Duke of Elik-Sa from magical attack – have been of divination and visual effects. Once home, he took up at the court of the Earl, impressing the young women of the court with his tricks and powers. He has shadowed the Blue Troupe (a fellowship of youth from court) on a few nights – following them in their ‘mission’ of helping the local farmers and keeping the road clear of highwaymen. To say the least, his father was disappointed that he would not follow in his soldierly footsteps – he has refused to enable Morgent to spend family money on his following. His parents indulged him as a youth, but now want him to take up landlord duties in the lands near the small village of Braddon Bog. There he is to also train some of the peasants as militia – as his father once did. His father’s temperament grows worse each day he shirks his duties… there are rumors in the family that his mother will be disowned as she can bear no more children and her only is refusing his father’s will. The brother of the Earl, Rogon, has allowed him to examine and test several items that once belonged to his adventuring companion Cinder…
Recently, Morgent was drawn into the intrigue behind the last Spring Festival of Ezrilus. the brothers Dulak, Sandovhal, and Porthias…
