The formal history of The Torrelson Riders goes back a hundred years. Currently they are chartered for a membership of 4 and a commander. The 4 best, chosen from ranks of town guards, fill this role. They are the equivalent of sheriff deputies. Bounty hunters, secure message runners, can commandeer militia for combat, handle road closures, and make arrests. Rarely seen off their horses, they are known to sometimes sleep on them. They are supposed to be equal, but the senior member always has the deciding say. They are given the title Sira Deputy Sheriff. For an almost equal amount of time, they were a form of special forces in direct service to the Baron of Crestwold before they were formally chartered. Jance’s Canyon on the edge of Yarans Vale was named after one of the original members, Marshal Jance.

> Beyond the common knowledge is:
Current Leader: Sira Leon Urence. No one really knows how old he is, but he looks older than his physicality belies. He has been their leader for about 20 years. He is jokingly labeled a half centaur, as he seems to be more at home on horseback than on the ground. He only carries weapons when he leaves the city, and is a capable crawler, using a worn and weathered club that was once carved decoratively. It is said it was given to him as a gift, that he freed one of the lizard folk of the Wonald Delta from a trap and it was gifted to him in return. This story is given credence because he routinely fearlessly makes all the runs bordering the delta and areas that border the coast or shore if needed – as if he knew someone was watching over him.
