Sublime Perspective

The Sublime Perspective is a character perspective that grants a sense of the cosmos and one’s place in it. Those with it have a deeply tempered sense of modern conventions – including technology – and their benefits. Advancement and convenience represents an obvious change, but not all is considered healthy or labeled as ‘progress’. It keeps the holder of the perspective grounded and in-touch with the environment around them – both constructed and natural. It’s like a vein that runs through them that cools their passions for exploration and division, often moderating development of technologies and policies that achieve this. A collective with the same source of Sublime Perspective often only feel most comfortable within the community they are on such a deeply connected wavelength with. Having this is either part of the genetic makeup of a species or a hard-won achievement for an individual or society.

Species Property: When this perspective is part of a race or species, it is most often expressed as racial memories embedded deep in their psyche that they can only access directly through either mystical or technological means or are brought out in their society; Regardless they are inherently aware of this perspective by no later than adolescence. These often manifest as Traumatic or Epic dreams that are unclear, symbolic, or hazy but may crystalize over time.

  • Ancient Mass Trauma: Ancient trauma may provide a distinct rebuttal to any arguments of constructing a means of leaving a group, safety community or sphere for fear of drawing untoward attention. Life may be a struggle, but the wider struggle within a galactic presence and integration is one that they often seek to avoid. Those experiencing this work within the general confines of the milieu they find themselves in, limiting their technology to reflect those around them. Over time, they cannot help but create advanced ideas and technology, but attempt to control the pace to suit their community and limit its exposure to outsiders.

There is always a basis for the desire and joy at physical and social interaction, they either build or find a society that allows them to express this safely depending on the environment and circumstances. This is usually reflected in the desire to have some direct hand in the production of and rearing of their offspring.

Generally, especially when at a scale of a society or species, such beings have developed physiology that assists with maintaining this perspective.
