ASI in 2014 was a +2 to a single, or +1 to two different Attributes (abilities) and was tied only to classes and feats. It increased to +3 and 3 attributes in the 2024 version, and moved to backgrounds from the races, and was still part of the standard class progression. Though the move from race to background is an improvement, the increase in power does not match the principles of Incarna. The concept of a ASI is still valid. Attribute Score Increase (still ‘ASI’) will be formalized as part of the normal Incarna vernacular. All characters at the time of Character Inception will get an ASI Option (ASIO?) of their choice, but the existing +2/+1 to two will be the normal. Additionally, all races will now be getting a forced ASI that includes plusses AND minuses. This reflects that certain races are physiologically different – focusing on the concepts of realism, immersion, and diversity using Incarna guiding principles.
