The Ignis Fatuus, the Will-O-Wisp or whispering will, is the coalesced remnant of hate from a victim of violent death and is filled with loneliness and hate, isolated by the cold emptiness of death.
These Ghostly Presence entities exude the faint whisperings of the nightmares of lost souls, travelers dying in an accident, eaten by animals, or cornered and slain alone. The entity is compelled to believe their light will to lead people to fill the hole in the darkness so they may die in the same place and provide company for their lonely vigil. They cannot be directed, controlled, or negotiated with, they cannot be laid to rest permanently unless they have just fed and consumed life essence.
