The actual tombs of fallen warlords and warriors for the Unholy Trio follows a standard configuration known as “The Black Sleep”. Other than the shrine, reliquary, and ancillary rooms that may or may not be present, the actual burial site will have three parts to signify the three of the Unholy Trio. It will have a catacomb with guardians, the long hall of reliefs depicting the life of the fallen warrior, and a tomb with a statue and small shrine to the unholy trio. The Catacombs of Honor consists of sarcophagi that house treasures and bodies of fallen warriors that will defend the tomb. The Hall of Red Honor is covered in violent, bloody images of the battles they were part of. The Black Resting Place is the actual tomb. It usually has a statue of one of the three who the dedicated was a servant of. Often, these resting place were located in a Darkhollow.
When one of the Black Sleeps’ is desecrated and destroyed, the priests of Everdark become aware. A bloodshot eye manifests, and darkens as the lid opens, stares and a raspy voice will utter a Proclamation of Transgression, tainting the target with an aura. Each character so affected will be pursued by a shadowy hound, following the scent of that aura unerringly. The hound leaves from the darklands and travels at maximum speed, without rest, attacking the effected character from the shadows when they least expect it.
