Sound Discs
Sound Disks: The Ducateon have stone ‘discs’, made from shellac. Spoken records of events and voice remembrances (all important records still made with stone and copper sheets) as well as music are impressed on them. These disks are fragile – brittle and prone to breaking. They are used to distribute bits of information and entertainment, but not treated as long term storage. They are even used sometimes to transmit critical information, due to the lack of being able to decipher to play the sounds on them. They are mostly a novelty in them, as they take Resonance Stones to play them back. Earth elementals and virtues (in Umbak) have been used for such things as well. The Umbakians are known to use them to transmit orders and greetings to their more remote outposts, such as the Sacrariums of the Justicars, the Crusader Camps, and cultural centers such as Clallums Cross on The Rhylian Plane of The Grand Duchy of Rhyl.
