Occult/Magus Staff
The Magus staff is a form of an Empowered weapon of the Occult. An occultist’s staff is always Singularly Bound. Unless noted, the item must be wielded to gain the full command of its powers. Some may be enjoined just by being in contact; Only the most powerful can channel some or all of their power from a distance. Part of its empowerment stems from the fact that it was once a living thing, a branch from a tree that lived and grew – it is easier for it to soak up and hold Anima. It is a symbol of the occultist’s attachment to the living flow of Mana in The Pattern.
It is a symbol of energy, internal strength, and a symbol of their connection to living things. An occultist’s staff amplifies and enhances their personal power, allow them to focus it easier. Rare ones may amplify Essence powers.
In combat, the staff of a magus is not useless, it is still a weapon, but it is more used to deflect and protect the life of the wizard than harm their enemies.
All staves can be wielded one or two handed and can be held with one.
