The 8 Blessings of Aerna
The pathway of the Cosheus Abyssal follows the “8 Blessings of Aerna” – the 8 northernmost cities of the southern empire of Synedcia at the time. These were sacrificed for the greater good. The demonic horde had swept all the way through the south and were busy sacking these cities when the abyssal opened – stopping their advance. At the time, South Gate Garrison (then called ‘Shincrae’) was not known to have fallen, but they could not take the chance – instead of crashing it into the abyss though, it was cut off and the abyss crossed north of it. South Gate held – the last of Aerna’s gifts.
