The Cunning Lodge Tradition

Steel Realms
The Cunning Lodge Tradition provided a (mostly) gender-centric gathering place. Part of the culture and traditions of The Fallen East were the concepts of The Tea Lodge (for women) and The Hunting Lodge (for men) were meant to provide secure and private gathering places to discuss intimate things, enjoy hobbies and converse. The lodges were both hot beds of political planning and social maneuvering as well. These reflected the overall Egalitarianism in the Realms.

The presence of a Tea Lodge is definitely an indication of the respect of the measure of equality that was inherited from the time of dominion before the Fall of the East (CY 2899). Dundaria also had a higher regard for women, though that was slowly eroding as the Gladnorian society’s stratification of peerage and gender was becoming more entrenched over time. In a way it’s an edifice to the segregation “separate but equal” of the sexes, but nonetheless existed for thousands of years.

Non-human species generally never had such formal constructs that divided on such hard lines.
