{– This was run on Discord and will be archived here; Each character had their own thread. –}
Recorded by Jesse and added to the Annals in the reliquary of the Companions Library
{ = copied in from Discord }
Are you traveling on a mount or walking? obviously one is easier to see at a distance.
In torrelsons Ford, the organization you are looking for to talk to Josie about is > The Nanford River Council (of the Riverdans)
The travel to the reliquary will be on foot, but I will take the mounts with and use them on the trip from there to the capitol. Who amongst the baggage train or keep is available to come along as an escort? I will be offering pay.
Twitch just became the official annalist, so she wont go. Volstagg is taking 2 belvins brace. The servants in the castle way outnumber the actual warriors – we’d be fucked if the baron shows up. Only the shear number of refugees keeps it from happening. Blacky is the only one. He wields a black spear that is magical (counts as magical is all), and wears studded leather and uses mage armor. He is ready to go – he has been waiting a long time to prove his worth
Well Blacky it is then. Any of the refugees or servant staff interested in coming along to help with general errands and what not? No fighting, just camp chores and assisting me in the capitol. Having just one more person would make us seem less enticing a target, even if they are not a combatant.
ARRIVAL OF Brother Eulogy’s Letter.
PERSAUDE > 1 more as a teamsters is no problem as a refugee. With an adjusted 20, the refugee – “Murkus”, will travel for no fee – just pay his way and the occasional wine. His family owes the Gallants a lot.
You know to get to Braddon Bog, you cannot use the Black Shore Road, you have to go inland first then cut north, passing through the capital of Mev. The peace talks have closed the faster route.
Sounds good. I’ll make sure that my 2 companions daily ‘per diam’ is higher than normal.
Krepar’s Letter to JesseAlthough a good idea, until you get to Mev is somewhat worthless. You notice along the way that the locales have little supplies. All of it is being gathered and used to feed those involved in the peace talks process.
You go east, what tale to you tell the checkpoints of the baron as to why you are traveling?
Personal leave.
They ask you destinations and time tables.
Basically “All work and no play makes Jesse a dull biy.”
Im upfront about that. Checknin with the Gallantine Legate, then off to the capital. Roughly 2 month round trip I believe.
So Mev, Dogwood Flats, then upriver to Dunstrand City and back?
Indeed. I will not be telling them any exact stopovers though, no inn names or contact names.
As you pass out of Crestwold, going around the end of Caliban’s Slurry through Lilymarch and on to Mev you cant help but think somewhere in this area is a sunken Bronzefolk ruin named Ashfall. Any roads going west to the site of the peace talks are locked down, so you stay away from them. Theres all the usual rumors as you travel, but honestly no one knows whats really coming out of the peace talks in the end. Mev is a central hub, has about 200 of the Dukes soldiers in addition to another similar amount of the Earl’s. Mercenaries are being used to escort things from the east to Mev as the distribution hub. Findinf lodgings is expensive, but you spend minimal time here. Blacky has not been out much, and he seems absolutely overwhelmed by the activity. Mev has about 5000 more in population than normal. He’s asking questions about everything and everyone he hears the name of.
The amount of traffic on the road is escorted by soldier or mercenary and is extremely safe in this region.
I’ll humor Blacky as we go. Especially if the questions he asks allow me to go into riverdans history.
Theres a few opportunities to spread your propaganda.
Other than a checkpoint and patrols, you dont encounter anyone. Do you try and hide your affiliations?
No. Not worth the effort. Not broad casting, just not hiding it.
You make it to Mev.
Since I made it to Mev, the tasks for Jesse tonbe working on would be
Following up on the guild of solaris book satchel
Learning new spells
Finding a Malek contact
Getting the last if the unidentified gear in the inventory taken care of. (Obviously not the stuff feather took)
see if any enemies of dunstrand have ties/conflict with the baron of Crestwold
Getting the paperwork for Ulrichs warhorse finalized.
We will go with the lowest risk first. The paperwork for the warhorse. Since Krespar is searching for Pony’s, what is required? A legal trail?
Pretty much. Documentation of the purchase of the horse by “The Nanford River Council”, followed by a transfer of ownership to one: Ulrich the Unfortunate, commander of the Gallantine Pinfeathers . So who do I have to bribe?
You told feather about this one. She actually has a contact in Mev she told you to use. This is the stable that the current riding horses and tack were bought for the ride with the herald of the duke to the moorswood. They made a lot of money off that. A letter of introduction and a few choice persuasive words should do it.
Cool. How much silver should I give them after the deal is made? Not just cost, but an appropriate “thank you for your discretion and continued business” kind of amount.
Persuade; fail = 200, success = 100, major = 50, crit = free; 50sc it is.
That takes an hour, but it will take 2 days to get all the paperwork signed and filed.
Guild of Solars next to get a few items on the list taken care of…
