Rite of the Dark Compact
The Rite of the Dark Compact is a rite of the Unholy Trio/Church of Darkness that creates a binding compact with terms of the bargain to grant certain powers to the petitioner in exchange for specific acts of service. Like all pacts, the ethics and principles of the petitioner are irrelevant; As long as they do not move knowingly and directly against know elements of the pact-granter, the power granted cannot be revoked until the terms of the bargain indicate.
The members of the Unholy Trio can be a Fiend patron because all of them are 1/3 fiend in their origins and ‘blood’. Everdark is the greatest of the pact makers though, while sunsteeler is known to require those who are sworn and beholden to overt acts that will get them found out. Gloombringer is often misunderstood or not understood at all and avoided for the most part due to her inscrutable nature. Those seeking packs are often given responses that are vague, non-committal, one-sided, and not something that should generally be trusted.
