> TAKEN FROM DISCORD

CY 9143, Month 2, Day 19 – You are released from jail and told to keep your nose clean. You are going by the name of “Clay. Bob Clay.”

There are guards manning roads out of town and the gate to the keep 24 hours a day now. So far, only about 10 mercenaries have been hired, but the word is that runner have been sent for days in all directions, and more are on their way. Things are just starting to get a little more expensive in the capital as people realize the “war effort” is going to start taking up resources. The smiths of the town are also now watched to make sure no weapons are being made for anyone other than the Burren family and their soldiers.

{made a check} No one seems to notice you sneaking around. you stay disguised and try and alternate colors to thwart casual recognition. You manage to spend some coin and hear that the Burren family is hiring another dozen guards, and seeks to hire about 40-50 mercenaries.

{made a check} There is a unusual amount of Twin River Confederacy soldiers. And they quickly change livery to the local Burren family after they arrive.

They are being hidden from the main camp. They are lead by a mane named Alfred… he seems to be known as The Black. By all accounts, its his black rotten teeth and gums thats getting him his reputation. It also puts him a black mood all the time.

There are mercenaries from all over, over 50 of them in 2 groups. One on the road, one in town. Each lead by a sergeant. A lt. leads the entire group and an adjunct in each half reports to him and organizes logistics. Burren family members are part of this “main” army that also consists of about a dozen of their own soldiers as personal guard.

Is there for the duel.
