At the edge of Scar Flow (old Westmarch), a few KM off the Tarmysian coast and in the Coldstream Channel (and technically part of Tarmysian territories) of the Tomir Barony is a strange set of features named the “Ray and Shark”. A strange slanted plateau island named the “Flying Ray” due to its shape and the triangular thrusting hill named “Shark’s Fin” to the south of it. For centuries, the rumor of the ancient birthing caul of Apshai Temple was rumored to be in this area and many adventurers went into Scar Flow and were never seen again.
The “island” is a plateau shaped like a ray, it is slanted and rises to 100m on its north edge and 10m on the south off its southern edge by a gap of 100m is Shark’s Fin Island. There is no good place to land, except for a single place in the southern edge It’s in the shape of a giant sea ray with wings. Nothing grows, the wind and rain just scoured it clean over the ages. It was once thought to be once a peak that rose up and was cut off in some cataclysm. The waters are very treacherous, and it is featureless and uninhabited..
Rumors of Treasure: Sometimes adventurers would camp on the bottom of the plane in the one harbor that was safe. Supposedly the rain would roll down and crash and break loose debris would fall on boats and sink them, there’s rumor to be treasure at the bottom of the bay for many a broken treasure seeker looking for a safe port in a storm that scar flow is notorious for.
It is separated from Flying Ray Island by a channel of 100m wide on its north side. There is no place to land or anchor a boat – the tides and flows are treacherous and destructive. Like Devil Ray Island, it is featureless and uninhabited. There are known to be holes and passages through one edge of the island, causing it to make eerie noises when storms strike the area.
