CY 8001 The Princes of Gladnor go to War
In the Prince’s Revolt of Gladnor two of the High King’s sons go to war when their father becomes ill and one believes the elder is not fit. The revolt encompassed the youngest gaining the alliance of the north merchant cities territories around the basin of Lake Caolite in CY 8001. The youngest drained the coffers of of the kingdom of Gladnor to gain the allegiance of the merchant city territories. It lasted only as long as the silver flowed into their coffers however, and once gone, the youngest was captured and returned to the kingdom and imprisoned until he died.
Rhyl Loses Trade Hegemony
The Grand Duchy of Rhyl tried to stay focused on defense of the north and neutral in the matter, but it caused a small civil war within its confines that was both embarrassing and a drain of resources that took decades to recover from. Some of the alliances and plots are said to exist to this day, who feel Rhyl was abused in the process and deserves compensation as it lost its trade hegemony of the basin to the MErchant Cities as a result.
