The Bronzemen came to Dunstrand Vale thousands of years ago. In their own records, few of which have been found, it is said they had been called, a message whispered on the wind by the mighty Vannuun – their great spirits – to claim Dunstrand Vale for themselves. For hundreds of years they fought the expanding Sea King Empire, which had crept up the biggest rivers from the coast. After so much fighting and death, they sought an oracle to bring word of their outcome of their efforts from the memories of the future. The Vannuun’s priests and priestesses toiled for many moons, bringing the same word: that the winds blow poorly, that there will be no victory of the sort the Folk of Bronze were looking for. The fatalism of their faith, the Voices of Fate, kept them from turning away from the fight. Ultimately they believed it was for the greater good, and so the fight carried on.
In the end, the Bronzemen did not win, but they survived the great war with the Sea King Empire. The Saelish is named and populated by the Saelenai. The Elonai suffered a diaspora of their remaining members, who became the heart of the folk called Elon.
