These materials represent the Incarna i20™ approach based on ©D20 system & d20 use.
This class uses the standard starting currency shown in the Steel Realms information for Characters. It follows the Incarna d20 Base Class of the same name except as follows:
The Study and Practice: True artificers are creating items based on engineering practices and methodologies. “Magical” artificing in the Steel Realms combines Chemistry and Physics knowledge with either Occult or Divine power to create repeatable output of minor magical items (see ‘Origins’ of base class description). Magical items are not made lightly, usually for financial gain or to equip others in order to advance shared goals and ideals. You will NOT find non-disposable magic items without a back story. The majority of divine items are singularly bound (via an institutional binding association).
Artificing (the making of alchemal and inscription items and mystic trinkets) under the auspices described in the [base] class description are done by all races. The dedicated practices of the class are only practiced by a few. Modern Artificing is accessible to any race, and it limited by the society in which its advancements are appreciated and practiced in.
Generally, the biggest practitioners are Ducateon, Dwarven, and Human societies.
Umbak: Umbak has the automata institute wherein ideas based on mechanical, material, and civil engineering are studied.
