Whispering Spiders of Fhayl (extinct)
Perhaps not even spiders at all, for these ancient creatures slowly vanished, and the last was rumored to be heard a little after CY 5000 – the time of The Sundering. They were also known to observe travelers and warn them away from the heart of the Fhayl Forest. Only full sized of these arachnids, the size of a dog, were ever glimpsed. No young, and no dead were ever found or recorded.
When the ancient Bronzemen left the Fhayl Forest, the Whispering Spiders slowly died off. They were immortal, and used by the Celestine of Helca to relay messages. Disease, hunting, and accidents gradually claimed all 500 or so of their numbers.
