2023 Initial Approach: With the collapse of all DnD development from 5.5 and 6.0 into the design and development of OneDnD™, Incarna will follow within its own “i20™” version (iteration from here on out). Version is just a label, and with OneDnD™ WOTC has decided to ditch formal, numeric based version and (like Incarna core once did) go 100% digital and iterative. However, the planned digitization is also part of a Virtual Table Top (VTT) environment that will be 100% owned and controlled by WOTC that enforces their rules structure. We are trying to stick to a true table top environment approach, with our original goal of all rules and design explanations online in easy to reference format for transparency. This keeps the emphasis on having an active GM-player interaction where creativity is the limit, not rules. We will continue to build and support the i20™ variant – as we call it now officially. We plan on restoring some test, design, and development materials (parameters to be published) for the i20™ that will align with the Open Gaming License 1.0a (see OGL 1.0a copy) and the d20 SRD (see hypertext SRD for DnD 5e, and WOTC SRD page) that was published unless a newer one takes it place and meets our needs. Also, there is currently work being done still on the iCore™ mechanics to be used and published as we migrate material from old web site versions and archives.
2024 Development Update: What is the obsession with the marriage of d20 and Incarna? Maintaining a full system and developing it to keep up interest is not possible when my true love comes in world building and adventures – stories. I suffer from severe ADHD with Aspergers. The partnerships i tried to use did not fit my method of work. I want everything to make sense and be consistent, but i dont want to over legislate everything. I feel a compulsion to make people understand me, so transparency is often over-done (like i over-share or share information without filters). I have a compulsion to make things “fit”, so I am taking 2014 DnD (after waiting for and reveiwing 2024 DnD) and finalizing my ‘Incarna’ vision with the d20/DnD platform/rules engine (mechanics). All these efforts are the kind of things few care about, but i feel compelled to reveal. I want people to know that its not arbitrary, and labels are flavor but ‘under the hood’ there is a logic, consistency, and uniqueness. And its all run throuhg a game balance filter. This is all purely subjective, but its my vision.
