Through the process of Parit Ovum, dragons may lay eggs that in turn hatch other creatures. The Newtling sub-genre of dragon descendants are variants of dragon-kind. They have a bodily lizard or serpentine element, but may have limbs and heads resembling other more humanoid species. Most dragons consider them a blasphemous offshoot; the particular humanoid/serpent combinations produced spectacularly cunning sub species, with a decided lack of empathy for other species. The Newtling family of draconic descent are almost always hostile to others, aggressive, but lack the Essence to achieve any of the Hamazd dream powers of their true blood cousins. The “offshoot” races are shrouded in mystery. It is certain that the origins are known to the parent species. They are tolerated at best – treated like a disease at worst.
These appear to be 3m tall dragon-like creatures with the morphology of a bi-ped race.
These are a smaller, paler, and of a more sinister cast than their larger cousins.
Dragons are capable of burning up their own physical body to lay a massive clutch of Newtling eggs. They deplete their size and health and can lay a hundred eggs.
