Tree Walk to Ilyndria

Campaign Introduction
The elves of Ghelmyr Forest of the Kingdom of Ilyndria have called for assistance. The Council of Peace (also called the Council of Stillness or Council of Silence) has sent word that they need aid from outsiders. This is terribly strange, as the council has not issued a statement in perhaps a thousand years – no one remembers the last. “The council seeks outsiders clear of mind and purpose to deal with supernatural forces it is unable to. Seek matriarch Veneveh, in the Birch Net Vale, in the south hinterlands of the Ghelmyr Forest of Ilyndria.” Little else is known, but it has reached your ears by way of a courier who says only a “little bird gave it to him” (literally). Strange that it was addressed directly to you – you have never had dealings with these elves before.

[Insert for Gaza] The forces that be, believe that part of the weapon you need to defeat the rising evil is within Ilyndra. The elves there may be able to help you seek it out if a good turn is done for them – and so you are sent. You are told The Deeping is an uncommon term used to refer to some particularly nasty effects within The Underdark.

Travel

The elves have prepared the way for you. Powerful magics of the Soul Tree will allow you to Tree Stride beyond the lands you are in, instantly.

Arrival
The group will initially travel to the outskirts of the elven Kingdom, to a town called Callval (southeast of Yprese Cut) and Lake Bluefall on the north side of Ox Birch Cut in the Hinterlands of the North (Steel Realms). Callval sits on a steep but low rise at the mouth of a mountain valley – making it difficult for undead to climb and attack. It is known as a place where Elven and other races trade and the ideal place to set out looking for the Council of Peace.

Encounters: Hinterland are unlikely, south and outside the short Dareenton Valley they are likely.
