A 1 off adventure with some canned characters (1st level).
The adventure takes place on the edges of civilized and traditional lands of the Steel Realms. The northlands – the freelands and people of the north, Kaald, and the kingdom of Kalascor keep company with the outcasts, outlaws, rejects, and remnants and last enclaves of dying cultures which make for the most diverse population in the realms.

Snow Goose Inn in the County of Kremlaig in Kalascor – the east side of the Snag Peaks on the edge of the territory of the free city of Thurlow. The Tower of Mordraint is surrounded by Lower Mordraint – a town of a few thousand. It’s a hard place, with hard folk.

Trade mostly avoids this area as its lord who was placed by The Spectre Lord himself some 400 years ago after the tribes grew too large and raided. The “count” David Dauhfhre, a Warlock of some repute led a force of Kalscor and coordinated with Thurlow to smash a pine tribe host. Since then, the only tribesman blood left in the area was the children of the adults he slew and indentured until they were 15. Centuries later, the Pine Tribes have made peace and wander the count’s lands peacefully – and their tribe numbers are kept under careful watch.

Action has been picking up of late. You have come amidst rumors that outside parties are seeking warriors to assist them in traveling north – an unusual amount of activity this year, even for summer.

The Invasion
Coreblack’s forces surround the town. The PC’s must get out.

Rally Point at the hills edge
As with any town in the north, there are rally points for important fleeing citizens.
The party members managed to follow a group of mayoral staff to the rally point – and have collected a few other refugees along the way. The camp is 240 large. The forces besieging the town seem to ignore it, even though their patrols must have seen it.
Offers: Sneak into the town and get a token to someone in the tower.

The freelanders of the north once again face the powerful orc war leader Coreblack.
He is besieging the Tower of Mordraint along the coastal highlands of the self styled “count” Dauhhfre – north of the border with the territory of the free city of Thurlow.

Blood Eye clan in Kalascor. He killed his chief in order that his best friend be put in charge. He follows Everdark. He is known to raise his fallen foes as skeletons and zombies, an entourage he can command. He is old now – at least 50.

What is the hook after the simple mission?
She has to get out – to go forward or back? Or does the party turn her over to Coreblack? If the latter, it is her double.
