Onesimos grew up with a need to compete and participated in every foot race, wrestling match, lifting competition or any other athletic challenge that was presented. Locally he was known for being victorious in many fair and harvest events. He lives for the next public competition and has traveled many times to participate in varying games of Rauket.
The need to make a living caused him to apply to the ducal guard, and after demonstrating the ability to consistently drive a javelin through a breast plate at 50 feet he was recruited and given training as a peltast. His need to prove himself and be acknowledged by his peers could have caused strife between his comrades, but instead acted as a driving force for him to lay everything out on the line for his fellow guardsmen and the mission.
