Ill-Tempered

The Ill-Tempered character is prone to violence and anger. What normally might make a character merely frustrated requires a Sanity check or it gives way to an outburst, which typically increases the tension and easily leads to anger and violence.

SF

Characters with Short Fuses take everything personally. They perceive attacks and sleights at the mildest of disagreements and prone to disproportional violence and anger as a reaction. They have little patience, often snapping and belittling or berating those they deem having let them down. This disparagement also tends to reflect in their own self-perception, making them seem to be highly self critical, though mostly it is an outward frustration and not true anxiety. Simple challenges of games can turn into a life and death account when the temper and frustration explode in a mundane situation. Arguments run the risk of becoming physical challenges.

A Short Fuse may stem from a behavior quirk, anxiety, biological imbalance, and/or social stigma. This stems from a Cultural Stigma or a specific social stigma and having to justify, defend or explain themselves at every turn just in order to be treated at the same baseline as everyone else.

Quick Temper

The victim sees sleights to their honor everywhere, a challenge in people’s tone, and in general has a short fuse and is angry and quick to act out on any perceived threat.
Quick-tempered characters are difficult to get along with. Often they are fine alone – it is only the presence of others and a feeling of being challenged that cause the violent outbursts.
Those with a quick temper suffer -2 on any Empathy or Persuade check – so blinded are they by their own anger. These characters will often get in fights and cause conflict where there was never any intended.
Fights are typically grapple and punches – not deadly; the behavior is not self destructive, usually its just socially destructive.
If forced to “act nice” through an encounter (failing their compulsion check but voluntarily violating it to preserve the peace), they will suffer Anxiety during that time and 3 rounds thereafter.
