The terror in thought of, and reality of the pain and vulnerability through personal confrontation and injury is intolerable. The character will actively avoid any situation which might normally turn violent or lead to combat, and run from violence directed at them. It does not mean they will not defend themselves (dodge, elude, parry, or block) if caught off-guard, or not fight if backed into a corner. If they can assist an ally without any direct danger to themselves, they will, otherwise remaining disengaged from combat. Ranged attacks are possible until direct attention is drawn to themselves (they become a target), at which point they are engaged and afraid. If saving an ally is the only way of their own long term safety being assured, or must fight to live or defend a code/oath, they will fight as Terrorized. Character with cowardice cannot have an active Leadership trait themselves (though can benefit if others do).
