Bracer Familiarity (carried/worn)

Brace Familiarity covers Bracers – small items not always in hand, but strapped and/or lanyarded and can be instantly employed.

Shield Familiarity covers those defensive items which do not require as much gross movement to employ as a defensive measure. Shields are designed to take much more punishment that a brace – braces are limited even in how their quality can impact their effectiveness due to significantly less materials.

Common Properties in Action

  • Generally cannot be disarmed.
  • Shield attacks cannot normally be parried by weapons.
  • Wielding a Bracer allows the benefits of Unfettered.
