Track

Tracking is a Survival Challenge activity. It can be done through a multitude of means, using different skills and automated or assisted by technology. Tracking is a prelude to Targeting; This is typically just using immediate senses and the activities of tracking and targeting are a single outcome. Tracking is usually done narrowly to follow something, but it can also be done broadly to be able to predict game/prey location in a habitat.

Typically, Tracking is done using Perception. and requires Concentration.
Analyzing an area for tracks can gain the following information:

  • Number
  • Sizes
  • Speed
  • Age of Track(s)

The following features add some measure of physical Tracking capability: Botany (sustenance sources for target game), Zoology (target game behavior and physiology), Natural Explorer, and Survival (broad, generalized).

The passage of time, weather, counter-measures, and other factors can impede the capability of a tracker in either preventing, obscuring, or just reducing the level of detail.
