Tactics: Pegren prefers to fight from a distance, having not the resilience for a lot of hand-to-hand combat. When up close i prefers simple weapons which make it easier for him to hit and the use of the spear which gives him reach and first strike or which can be used behind a line of front line warriors or around a heavier warrior. If he does engage, he prefers to draw attacks, making use of shields to get an enemy to turn his back to a more skilled fighter.

Pegren is a simple fighting man – uncomplicated and even tempered. He has served as bodyguard, caravan guard, delivery man, bouncer, and when his luck was down an enforcer (though he did not like it) for local gangs. Having witnessed the battle in which [[:vraxen | Vraxen Pax]] vanquished his foe in the [[Duel at Osic Bridge | Duel at Osic Bridge]], he decides to come forward and offer his services to the party who was able to stand up to the priest Balban – seen by many locals as unwanted. Pegren offers a year of service against foes such as he if the party will continue to side with the Riverfolk. There is no need for such an oath, but he is welcomed the same. The party briefly explains their mission and how they work as a group and Pegren accepts admittance as an equal.
Pegren has had a solid upbringing in the Riverdans and is a lay follower of the Wyld Faith and Gaia. He has no inclination to discuss his faith, it is simple and does not ask questions of [[:jiles-swone | Jiles Swone]] or try and involve himself further in its mysteries… though does make himself available to Jiles when healing powers are needed – having no understanding beyond that and his fear preventing him from involving himself further.
