Like the repentant, the acolyte forms the bulwark of worship and volunteer service, but these followers have expressed a desire to formally enter the tutelage of the clergy and a desire to advance the position of the church. The acolyte has not yet mastered the nuances of the dogma. Acolytes are allowed to be in the community, coordinating the penitent in activities, but not to represent the church outside of existing followers or discuss
its functions, dealings, or role without a priest.
