One the west side of the Zephr-Trepek River is a small mountain river tributary called The Stepek. At the base of it is a town named Ubreac that houses the self proclaimed High Temple of Goldar – the patron of progress and technology.
The Trepek river valley also held a few mills using the controlled flow of water, and a dozen or so steadings (population about 800 total) with cattle, blueberries and grain.
Above the dam, several small fishing and hunting villages lie on the south side on the shore of the artificial lake. The largest is the village of Szir-Crellann (population 287), which also serves as home for a pair of larger-than-fishing-boats used for dam and spillway inspection/repair. A few wild apple orchards have been fenced in and maintained here as well. Standing watch over the area is the Tower of Wharking, where the order of the Gears of Goldar maintains a large public shrine (a common pilgrimage) ornately carved in relief which portrays the good works of all the gods of law.
For over 200 years, the priests have harnessed the power of the dam to generate power to the temple and workshops on the west side of town of Ubreac. The workshops make extraordinary water clocks, mirrors, and music boxes.
