History of Gladnorian

Origins

The origins of Gladnorian date back to the coming of the Blood of Saemon – that brought it with them. Originally it was a human tongue named Glaerdian, though there are variations in the eldest texts – Oerdian, Goerthian, etc. The root language was one of many, but the the attack of the Unholy Trio upon the folk who came to Helca necessitated a shared communication and so it became the first major common language.

Dialects

  • High Glaerdian
  • Old Glaerdian: Mostly only a written form of the language used to record ancient texts from the Fallen East. It combines the early root of Glaerdian with Feyloise used to describe mystical concepts to a higher degree as well as changes the title and addressing of importance to Feyloise as well.
