Ancient Blood in Cerran’s Grant

Originally named Rumein’s Grant (after the herald that negotiated the peace), it was quickly changed to the name of the family Cerran –
who order of knights died defending it.

====================
Ambushed on the road: You are attacked by 8 men who try and tear you from your saddles. The PC’s will be beaten and thrashed.
Tactics: Never get near weapons more than once, but overwhelm each PC with grapple. They will use staves and one will have a whip.
They will steal purses only; not trunks of loot. Any books they find, they will deface, rip, tear, cut. They can be put back together, but not well – they will have to be copied.
– This is meant as a lesson and should come early on.

The attackers will tell the PC’s to ‘go home’, ‘stay out of the Riverdans’,
‘stop prying’, and that their efforts will disturb the peace of the lands and anger the Duke for creating unrest.
Pursue the attackers (track) back to a camp on top of a ridge which looks south over the road.
An overgrown graveyard is at the top. It has been purposefully trampled and hidden from view.
The attack on the hill will start a fire that will reveal a headstone and a collapsing
grave. Digging will reveal ancient red scale armor, runsted and battered. A gauntlet can be taken – it
has a symbol on it of a yellow-orange sun coming over the horizon with red rays.
Lore checks will reveal what it is.

Fist of the Red Sky – beaten and battered gauntlet; last of the
Red Sky Knights died in this place.
