Practice Standard Range (Skill/Trait)

This material is not meant for Players or GMs; This is part of design, development and testing and is intended for that audience to assist in creating and assessing Incarna materials.

The Practice Standard Range is used when acquiring, developing, and assessing Outcomes (checked against the Resolution Scale) for Features typically presented as having distinct levels of progress (mostly Skills/Lores and a few Traits). Its practical range is from the Practice Floor to the to the Practice Ceiling; Possessing an actual measure (1; Familiar on the Practice Scale) allows all normal proficiency, circumstantial, and attribute adjustments to be applied by default. Features using the Practice Standard Range have a typical cost to acquire that use the Major cost value.

i20™ Practice Standard Range Details

The Practice Floor is 0 and the Practice Ceiling is 5; Five measures is the most that can be acquired. The Measure of Success is generally equal to the Skill Level.

  • 1 = Familiar Knowledge: +1 Measure of Success
  • 2 = Competent Knowledge: +2 Measures of Success
  • 3 = Accomplished Knowledge: +3 Measures of Success
  • 4 = Exceptional Knowledge: +4 Measures of Success
  • 5 = Mastered Knowledge: +5 Measures of Success
For i20, a full +5 is equal to a full range DC shift of 5 on the DC scale. Since the “skills” of Incarna only supplement the d20 Skill Proficiencies, this should be enough. Notation for anything outside this should use no more than each measure representing double the level (+2), still to a maximum of the standard 5 levels.
