Celestial/Celestines (& Aaismar) of the Steel Realms

Steel Realms

Approximately 1.7m – 2.1m tall and angular features, non human skin tone, textures and coverings. Eyes will be bright, even multi-colored and reflect light. Hair is lush and long. There is an overall façade of health, vigor, and vitality and a stoney stoicism in their face. The original Celestine entities of Helca are immortal.

Supernal Empyrean: First generation [Aaismar] descendants of Celestials on Helca, they are referred to by their Celestine patrons as Supernal Empyrean to differentiate them from standard Aaismar. They live between 400 and 1000 years and have a Delayed Decrepitude and a Long Life Thread. d20 Raise Dead and equivalent/d20 Revivify and equivalent: Creatures with a Long Life Thread (ex: Elves) cannot be targeted by either of these spells (they simply fail) – it takes stronger spells to impact the character enough to bring them back from the dead. These creatures are often found functioning for their patrons directly, and not as PCs.

@RP Impact: Otherness

True Aasimar: Generic 2nd generation celestials – still have an totally alien cast to them, and a mindset that sets them apart from the Aaismar normal and heavily filtered descendants. Aaismar characters are, generically, descendants of Celestials which manifested and mated with lesser creatures.

@RP Impact: Otherness

Origins as Commonly Understood: The true origins of the Celestines on Helca are hazy. Their offspring and half breeds are referred to as the Celestines as well, or the common name in many realms of Aaismar. The most ancient of inscriptions sometimes refer to the first Celestials as the Children of Amun, and also the Children of the Seven Hathors. Neither of these references has any meaning in any text or records ever found. These ‘children’ are blessed with immortality and perfect health by all reckoning, though they can be killed. The spirits that form upon their death are referred to as Spiritus (and have a life of their own); the Bronzemen of yore seem to generate the same type of spiritual leavings, though if there is any connection it is unknown.

Animal and Divine Feature(s): Partial feature manifest – cat eyes, whiskers, ears, fur, fangs, etc. – tell tale signs of associated animal heritage for the Nakrian Celestine characters. Additionally, the eyes will flash, glow in the dark, the geometry of their heads, faces, and bodies all cast them as alien.

True Inheritors: The arrogance that goes with the species that uplifted mankind and the Merovin.

Linked Parentage: These have their parents and grandparents take a direct interest. Each 3 years Supernal Empyrean must seek them out in a place of solitude for a chance to discuss that they have learned and what it is to be genuinely divine, and progressing as a entity. At the age of 15, the character is given a homunculus in order to see how they have a ‘creation’ that they may uplift and guide themselves. It is destroyed (purposefully) before they make their way into the world – the flip side of creation is destruction.

  • Feature: Otherness; Their racial features completely ‘otherize’ them. These issues fade when the celestial works within the confines of a holy order (in the company of a priest of obvious positive disposition) or on a known quest.

This represents a general bias based on typical POV. PCs and NPCs may be able to change the Reactions through hard work and example… but face a major battle to change people’s biased opinion.
