Arriving/First Glance: You see a small rise in the distance at the base of the Spiremount Hills, upon which must be the aptly named Spiremount Manor proper. It is surrounded by fields and farmsteads on the west side of the old dry bed of the Nanford, and orchards on the east side. What was once a town is at the base of the rise, about 30 feet higher than the old river level; It is now no more than half populated (or less), down to about 2000 people. There is a road, currently used, going north out of the town on the east side of what used to be the Nanford River’s course. You can see where a road that would be traveling N-NW (if it were used) comes out from the town and just becomes a trail at best. Another road goes south into the Culaugh Spiney (growing in the old Nanford’s course), flanked by a crumbling gatehouse.
