The enclave is built into the low hills, carved out of them directly with the area in front covered slightly by a massive overhang. The town of Hillsbend is scattered outside of its walls, about 100m from the walls of the enclave.

What you Notice (on arriving): The town is laid out on a strict grid system. It is clean and bustling. The buildings are mostly made of stone, at least the ground level, and whitewashed. Everything looks well organized. The backdrop is the walled dwarven enclave of Redlaen, cut into the hillside. A massive overhang stretches 30m out above the top of a 10m curtain wall with a gate, almost casting the town in its shadow.
