A massive stretch (30 miles by 20 miles) of soupy, nasty back water liquid. Over a thousand years ago, a man named Sir Caliban tried for a dozen years to build a holdfast in it in multiple places, but they inevitably sank – leaving him destitute. He did give his name to it – previously it was known as the Brine Moors. Little is remembered about the knight other than his name.
