Incarna d20™ [TITLE] Details/Mechanics

This content is part of the i20™ Variant for the d20 System™.

d20 [specific] Requirements: Occult Aptitude 1 OR 3 [Occult] Allotted Essence.

iCore [TITLE] Details/Mechanics

[Incarna 5.0]

Requirements: Each time the stones are activated, those possessing them (takes 72 hours to attune), will take 4 damage. It costs 5 mana for this, and the connection last 1 hour. Those in communication get vague sensory input from the other, mostly it is thought though speaking aloud is quite a common effect. There is a “master” and “slave” stone, though either can ‘initiate’ communication.

Common Effects: The ‘Master’ stone can be attuned to and then bonded with (-1 CP and loss of 1 essence while possessed).

Weak Bond: 1 CP/- 1 essence while attuned

  • Can choose to block incoming communication (though costs same amount of mana)
  • Gains +4 on empathy and aura readings for those possessing the ‘slave’ stone (was used to know if they are telling the truth)

Common Knowledge / Easy Difficulty

Most Recent History

In recent times, the Seeng Stones were taken from a priest of Elancil in Dwindor Swamp around 9130 when the Band of Crows attacked the forces of Gwinn that were raiding Bar-Innis. The stones have been used by generations eventually ending up in the possession of The Gallants in 9163.

Commonly Understood Origins

Created by Elancil?

Commonly Understood Development

Built for the creation and campaign of The Confessor?

  • Key Places: Gwinn
  • Key Entities: Elancil, The Confessor
  • Key Concepts: Communication over long distances…

The Seeing Stones were used in the service of the secret set of Elancil’s cult of The Confessor.

Uncommon Knowledge / Average Difficulty

The actual source of their power is unknown – but they are ancient for sure. All the lines, etchings, and colorations that once were present have been worn smooth – only a few meaningless unconnected markings are present – indicating nothing to anyone.

Rare Knowledge / Very Hard Difficulty

The priests of Elancil attempted to divine their origins and the only notations they could make were that they seemed to appear twice historically. A similar pair was referenced as in use in the Tower Lands thousands of years ago, and once again the southern Borderlands soon after they fell. The Gwinnish had a slave orb at Apshai temple and the bronzemen had the master and one slave at Ashfall. Gwinn raided the ruins of ashfall and got the master/slave, party killed raiders and took the 1 pair.

Obscure Knowledge / Near-Impossible Difficulty

Note: Secret Knowledge is information not available in any known references; It is not necessarily Forbidden Knowledge.

The stones were originally created for use by the Watchers of Sokar. Sokar was a Celestial, but defeated and passed into the House of the Dead ages ago… though his temple complex on the Impli Peninsula was watched over waiting for his resurrection as the prophecies had foretold. Eventually the city was conquered, and the stones passed into other hands and began their long journey through history. Sokar made 1 master stone, the Falcon’s Eye (emblazoned with the Eye of Horus), and 4 ‘slave’ stones – the Falcon’s Talons. Last slave is in his temple on the impli peninsula.
