Dunstrand Rising – The Hearltands Spark is an Epic Campaign that allows the characters to transform the duchy into a different position and political power that could shift the fate of the entire heartlands of the realms. Set in Grand Duchy of Dunstrand in the Steel Realms of the [Fantasy] Steel Realms Setting (planet of Helca), and run as a Living World story within Dunstrand Rising Living World

Feats Prohibited

Dreams of Gruxand the Necromancer

– It will come to be called “Gruxands Memory Flood” and “The Soul Scourge of Gruxand”

Gruxand sought a form of Lichdom that, instead of changing him to make himself beyond death, he changed death to make himself immortal. It has massive ramifications for the entire world. It is like an open psychic wound, a buzzing in the back of the thoughts of every single person living. It even affected undead, weakening the Lich Lords themselves and their ability to create the feared vampire warriors. It will likely get worse, so the sages say. A party of The Gallants, through several seemingly random events, ended up being the only ones capable of confronting him. They were slain to a man, only a henchman survived to tell the tale and take the annals back to their home. After that, everyone in the world began to experience drams, strange symbolic dreams. Then a flood of memories from all those slain in the world, especially the Valley of Sighs from common year 1 and on, flowed across the mindscape of the planet. About 25% of the entire population took in some memories, and were killed by the trauma.

Summary of all Soul Scourge Changes

All powers as Actuated Aegis – no expressive (verbal, somatic), or materials needed.
  • The Cantrip Spare the Dying does not work any more (except necromancers and nature and death god clerics + White Sisters of Aerna
  • Lichlords cannot make/create any more vampires themselves.
  • Resurrection of any type no longer works + raise dead fails unless con dc 10 save on target.
  • Animate Dead becomes a 4th level spell, except for Wizard Necromancers.
  • Dancing Lights is added to Druid spell list.
  • 10-5-9168 > Detect Poison and Disease only works for druids (Suppressed Spell).
  • POWER 1 = Prestidigitation (# times per day equal to Intelligence bonus/min. 1)
  • POWER 2 = Thaumaturgy (# times per day equal to Wisdom bonus/min. 1)
  • POWER 3 = Guidance -roll d4/uncontrolled (# times per day equal to Charisma bonus/min. 1)
  • POWER 4 = Sanctuary (# times per day equal to Sanity bonus/min. 1)
