Tanner’s Letter of Marriage Arrangement

Dear Mary

Long have you enjoyed the freedom of an unencumbered woman of your stature. Many adventures do you have to regale your children and grandchildren with – if you had them. It is long past the time to stop playing at one with your soldiers and begin to seriously think of the future. The future the Gallants have fought tirelessly to secure is now here. The announcement of your betrothal to some sir shithead of ubiquitous is inevitable – I have shielded this from the Duke and can no more, as I am dying. Old age catches us all – except you it seems. Whatever magic Geraldine bound your group to has caused a stir. You are not aging as you should, though your hair is grey from the strain of your position, I’ll wager. I will try and secure the best match I can. Until my last breath I am friends with you and The Gallants. We owe you greatly, and now you must aid us again in securing a stable title and lineage that is loyal to the Duke.
Tanner Holmraf, senior Herald to the Duke of Dunstrand.
