Corporeal Undead are the persistent material bodies of Undead. Many undead are bound strongly to experience their surroundings as The World Beyond. These entities often require Eternal Repose.
Active Embrace: These are undead which have consciously held onto their from, embracing undeath. The difference in the outcome of the various motivations in doing this are evident in the wide range of undead forms. Some become obsessed with the destruction of the living, and exist solely to feed upon them for reasons of vengeance, hatred, lust, or even a love of flesh (or its equivalent) as sustenance. Lesser creatures of this type are single minded and easily understood. The more malevolent of these are to be feared as their vileness and hatred is expressed in more subtle forms in addition to their consumption of the living.
Passive Embrace: In some cases, the embrace of undeath comes without notice to the victim. They simply block out their actions which bespeak of this state, or do not understand them. In such cases, the sanity and/or logic is typically lowered as a result of the damage to the psyche during the process. Eventually they will realize and face what has happened to them, but blackouts, feinting fits, poor health, fever and delusions will accompany the transformation, which can easily be rationalized as the cause of, what appears to be the root of the visions or dreams they may be experiencing.
