The Mind Beyond

The Mind Beyond is a trait of The World Beyond. The manifested shell/form of these creatures may be bound by The Form Beyond .

Upon the shores of Madness and Beyond: Many undead are bound strongly to experience their surroundings as The World Beyond – part of The Void. Usually this involves a sacrifice of a [pillar] Aptitude in exchange for Void Aptitude – a pollution of Essence. Reality which is Void Washed appears as a sickly set of threads in The Pattern. The presence of The Void to expose The World Beyond can come from Affliction and twists and tears in The Pattern. The Caress of the Void can cause permanent physical and psychological scarring, in addition to the particularly nasty trauma of Psychic Scarring.

Mind Beyond Properties

No Rest Beyond: Even those with this “Beyond” feature require rest that can only be gained through a form of Meditation – this is how they recover essential non-material reserves.

Undead: Undead with this feature require stillness, this ‘rest’ is how they regenerate essential material reserves and health. Often resting, to materially recover, pulls resources from the undead, reducing their available maximum levels of Health and such until they can feed and return to their unnatural levels.
