Impoverished Community

If a character is part of an impoverished Community, it means that the standards are sub-par in all cases compared to a greater society, and there is no escape from it. Impoverished does not necessarily correlate to goods-based communities; A community may be poor in terms of real currency but sustained in terms of goods and services required for the basic health and well-being of its members. Insular communities are often this way – basic needs are covered. Impoverished Communities lack opportunities and basic health and diet standards. They also lack larger societal concepts and ideas. It should be noted that “primitive” communities are not Impoverished – though the lack of ‘civilized’ opportunities may make them seem so to outsiders. Survival is the primary focus of Impoverished Communities – NOT to “flourish”.

General Features

The Availability of items is, at best, those that would normally be Pervasive and Common. Cheap illicit goods (drugs) may be part of the community, which might help keep it controlled by outside forces. Generally, starting age for humans in the setting is 14-15.

The Standard of Living is, by default, Lower.

The Social Class a character is part of is either Lower or Pariah (though that would be considered “average” for the community).

Normal Character Creation parameters may not apply at Inception.
