Rest Quality and Recovery

Healing basics are covered under Damage and Healing, but other factors can enhance a creatures natural healing processes. All these factors reflect the levels of Learning and Knowledge they have access to. What a specific community may have in terms of resources for this is often reflected in its Standard of Living.

Rest Cycles

Rest Cycle: 1/3 of a day cycle (e.g. 8 hours of a 24 hour day) equivalent spent in sleep and non-strenuous activities.

Short Rest

= 1 Rest Cycle

Long Rest

= 7 Rest Cycles: A week of doing nothing but rest at all times, one rest cycle must be spent each day in doing nothing but complete rest.

  • Rudimentary: -1
  • Average: (Accomplished)
  • Expert: +1
  • Mastery: +2

Rest affects the rate at which damage is healed. Few creatures can fully regain their health without resting.
